URI was contracted in 1980 by Tenneco to develop their West Cole uranium property just north of Bruni, TX. This contract was made
possible because of URI's success at their Benavides Mine located 5 miles away. URI designed, engineered, and erected a
ISL facility that was ultimately capable of processing at 1,850 gpm for Tenneco. Additionally URI drilled and completed the first series of
wells that constituted Tenneco's first wellfield.
This project was brought on line during July, 1981, on time, and at budget. A turn-key contract in the sum of $4.0 million developed the project into a commerical viable mine. URI engineering and operationing staff provided an additional 6 months of oversight and training to Tenneco's operating personnel. |
