endeavor mining uranium. Plant and wellfield capital amounted to $1.2M US in 1978.
The property operated for 3 1/2 years producting 200,000 lbs U3O8before commencing restoration.
The plant--permitted, designed, built, and operated by URI--was a 50-50 joint venture with Coastal Corporation of Houston, Texas.
This project was the first to be designed with the "upflow, self leveling, gravity IX columns," which were further refined and employed at many solution mining operations in Texas, Wyoming, and Nebraska. It was here also that the first successful run of a reverse osmosis water filtration unit was conducted to enhance groundwater restoration. |
